FAQs

Slate roof FAQs

How long does a slate roof last?

A well-installed natural slate roof can last many decades, often far longer than other coverings. Fibre cement slate also offers a long service life at a lower cost. Correct fixing, membrane and ventilation are key to longevity.

Natural slate or fibre cement slate – which should I choose?

Natural slate gives the most traditional appearance and longest life; fibre cement slate is lighter, uniform and more economical. We will help you choose based on your home, budget and any planning requirements.

Can you repair a few slipped slates?

Yes. We replace slipped, cracked or missing slates and check the surrounding roof for any underlying causes.

Do you offer slate supply only?

Yes. We can supply natural and fibre cement slates on a supply-only basis, or supply and fit.
